And They Said College Was Different // AU Kotetsu x Barnaby
A lot of people like to think that college and the “real world” are different from high school, but that’s not the case. The more money you have and the more your good at something the more popular you are. Kotetsu T. Kaburagi was an example of that. In highschool he was that awesome member of the Mixed Martial Arts Team, the star of the team. And here he was now, his senior year in college and he was still the star. The team captain was in the basketball gym with the other members of the team waiting for new recruits to show up for their first practice.
He was a nice guy and likeable, though his friends wouldn’t deny he was a dork and a hopeless romantic. He was that giant teddy bear of the group that could maul you in an instant if you hurt anyone he cared about. That was probably why all the girls loved him, but he’d stayed single after his first girlfriend broke-up with him. He never really said what happened. Kotetsu would just get into a fight to “test” the team members readiness for sneak attacks.
He was laughing as the new recruits filed in, four of them to replace the four that had graduated the year before. “Oi oi!!! We got the rookies here finally!” Kotetsu said grinning, his amber eyes looking over the three freshman and the one sophomore. “Welcome to the team everyone! You should be glad you made it this far. Now you’re going to be swarmed by the ladies!” He said, while his teammates hooted and hollered in agreement. “So, I’m Kotetsu T. Kaburagi, but for whatever reason they all like calling me Wild Tiger. I’m your team captain, whatever I say goes, but you’re more than welcome to try and convince me otherwise. So let’s go around and introducing yourselves new bloods!”
After people had gone around the room a young man stood up and smiled lightly “My name is Barnaby Brooks Jr, pleasure to meet you all I hope to be able to work with you well in the future.” He smiled as he looked at the other and adjusted his glasses. “Its a pleasure to meet you Kotetsu . I’ve heard a lot of good things about you” He then extended his hand when people had started talking to each other and gave him another smile.
It was a charming smile one that he usually never left home with out.
